About

Writer. Storyteller. Creative.

It’s about writing. It’s always been about writing.

How did this all begin? With books, of course. With a home filled with books, and trips to the library, and stories at bedtime.

That’s where it started anyways. That little spark of magic. And from it, I was called to writing.

Over the years, writing has become both a ritual and a craft. It is the time I take aside for myself to journal, to reflect, to process, to plan. It has served me, alongside reading, as the best tools I know for self-discovery, growth, and expansion. It has also equipped me with a toolbox for my career: to communicate, to storytell, and to create. It’s what’s led me here, living on the west coast, working in comms and writing in blogs, essays, and (hopefully, one day) my own book.

But at the foundation of it all is the practice of writing. It’s the part that really is magic. It is the act of sitting down before a blank page and working it out. It’s learning how to craft, how to play with language, and how to edit, edit, edit until you’ve created something from nothing, from pieces and parts of yourself and others. And as a reader you’ll recognise that feeling of opening a book, or an essay, or a journal and suddenly there is this connection to another time and place, to a shared vision created with the written word. It’s why I love writing. It’s why I’m (still) surrounded by books. Maybe that’s what you love about it, too. If so, hi, let’s be friends.

I’ve created this space for the writers in the room, for the readers, and for those seeking that magic connection between the two. For both the creatives and the comms professionals. And for those who might find inspiration to start (or restart) their own writing. This practice has become such a fundamental part of my life, helping me to reflect, to grow, and to create. You may find it can also help you, too.

So welcome to a community of writers and readers! I’m happy to have you. Here I write about the practice of writing, the ritual of journaling, what I’ve learned about the creative process, storytelling and comms strategies, along with my own attempts at productivity to get the writing done. And all infused with a west coast/rainy day/hot coffee/stack of books vibe, which is of course my happy place. Maybe you’re reading this in yours, too. See: magic!
